Has anyone used Marklin Z centenary with any other brands of track besides Marklin? I know they use special clips to clip onto Marklin track but will they clip onto other brands of track or can they be used without the clips? I currently have a small loop of Micro Trains micro track I use for a temporary layout and I would like to get a model of an electric locomotive and be able to run it off wire power. I might also use it for a future layout using Atlas code 55 track or Marklin track.

Märklin Z catenary is designed for use only with the tracks without roadbed. Thus, it is very hard to use it with track systems from MTL and Rokuhan. Surely, no one forbids you to try, but your efforts on adjusting and aligning everything will be nearly endless By the way, Rokuhan offers their own catenary system, but it is in Japanese style and does not feature cables (only pylons). Greetings, Alex

I do not think Marklin Catenary will work with MicroTrains or Rokuhan track, unless you are game for some MAJOR modifications!
The problem is the height - both Rokuhan and MicroTrains include raised roadbed. That gives significantly less space between the top of the rails and the bottom of the Marklin Catenary.
On the other hand, I think that Atlas could be used with fairly minor modifications, because it is essentially the same height as Marklin track.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll wait until I get a layout put together to install centenary or get a loop of Marklin track for something more temporary.
