I think fantasy schemes with plausible paint schemes are reasonable to manufacture. For instance, SP didn't have any E8/E9 B units painted in Daylight colors. Might be nice to have some. If people find fantasy schemes objectionable, they don't have to buy them. Model railroads are your own fantasy to do with as you please. Mark

In fact we have done a few in the past (coil cars come to mind) but for the most part we tend to stick with things that actually existed. The fantasy paint scheme is a slippery slope. Our preference has always been to let the skilled hobbiest do their own weathering and repaints. In the case above, iirc SP did have daylight E7. So that’s a good solution. For the next round of ES44 Gevo, we are planning to update several of the more exotic liveries as many of them have changed a bit, and new ones have been added. But if you want a Donald Trump or Joe Biden locomotive, you’re going to have to do that yourself. We’re not going there.

I’m not capable to repaint and hardly any body to find that does. Just one road request in Wester Maryland above is the only one. So give it a chance and see how it may sell .

Maybe the new Amtrak 50th Anniversary locos as well? Seen a couple of the Heritage units have been updated with 50th liveries now.

Here are some fantasy scheme Gevos I want... Here we have what is clearly labeled an AC4400CW....obviously a complete fantasy scheme. (in reality, this is an ES44AC...early deliveries of GEVO's were still designated as AC4400CW's by BNSF. Note the wayyy offset BNSF lettering, presumingly due to the differing spacing and undulations of the ES44 body versus the earlier GE's.) BNSF 5739 leads an Eastbound loaded Smither's Lake (UFIX Steel Gons) Coal Train past Herman Siding on the final approach to Fort Worth, TX on June 18th, 2006. Photo By Doug Andreasen, used with permission.-OR- Here is an ES44DC. Complete stretch to apply this to an ES44AC, lemme tell ya. Absolute 100% fantasy. (in fact, the differences between an ES44AC and ES44DC are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. A better look at the offset BNSF serif lettering.) BNSF 7704, trailed by visitor NS SD60 6603, hauls a loaded grain shuttle Eastbound near Rhome, TX on August 24th, 2006. Photo by Doug Andreasen, used with permission.Hey, if fantasy schemes are the flavor of the day, I'll stoop to whatever depths necessary. Or, announce a Dash 9 and we can forget all about this off-center BNSF foolishness.
