Mark, I'm new to the hobby. But I have been doing lots of research. My father is a collector/builder, who was involved with early US Z scale development. My father converted many Marklin Locos to US. I have started doing the same, but my alterations are more drastic. I guess that is where I get some of my knowledge and interest. I appreciation your suggestions and information. There is always something to learn. My main interests right now for the 1920s-30s are layouts for the Branford Steam Railroad, CNJ-Toms River Branch, and the PRR-Union Transportation Company (New Egypt). I've started a layout for the BSRR. www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/my-very-first-layout-ever.135367/Scott

Pre WWII era Yes we have 4 freight cars from that era: 40’ PFE Reefer, 1937 AAR Box Car, Outside Braced Box Car and now the 1917 8000 Gallon Tank Car. And not to forget a Light and Heavy Mikado. AZL also have 7 different Heavyweight Passenger Cars. On top of this are plenty of brass products from the 1930s and 1940s
Will there be more. Yes!
