Dioramist Dirk Kuhlmann once did a Archistories YouTube video on their motorized water mill model. Featured in the video was a mill stone prop that I don’t recall being part of the kit. At any rate I’m looking for a couple of mill stones and wonder if anyone has a source? Or an idea how to make one? My carving skills aren’t the greatest.

Do you mean this item? Pretty sure that's in the kit. And a quick message to "the man" confirms that it is in the kit.

Surely not. I was answering to the question of whether it was in the kit or not. 😊

You can purchase Dremel stones that are a perfect size for use as a mill stone, and as an added bonus, it is made of actual stone material. I have seen them in pink, gray, brown, and green.

FWIW you can buy assortments of "Dremel tool attachments" for way less than "official" Dremel branded pieces.

Why not try 3D-printing in polyamide (SLS) at Shapeways ? It has a slightly rough surface and can be painted with acrylics ... You could add to Your order of the fire tower, so You have only to pay shipment fees once ...

I have a small mill stone here in my garden to use as a model. 🤞🏻

you can do it your self with a styrene pipe (or a plastic bead) and a bit of sanding

Special thanks to husafreak for sending me a small Dremel stone. After a bit of roughing up, it makes a very convincing mill stone.
