I got a message (two times) from one of the designers ... In fact, Shapeways "confessed" that they changed their algorithm for price calculation, and it seems that they don't give any details about it ! In the past, it was detailled for each material used, so one could "optimize" the price, if necessary put several things into the same file ... Now it has become "trial and error" !

As far as I remember, for some materials, there was a fixed price for the file and then an amount depending of the size and volume of the parts ; it SEEMS that now, if You have several, non linked together parts in a file, You must pay the fixed price for each (but I may be wrong). The main problem is that Shapeways does no more publish the formula used for price calculation ... And don't hope going to Sculpteo, I tried it, they reject files with several parts ... I wanted to print the pedestals for my signal bridges, the solution was to link them together with sprues, so they are considered as only one object ...
