Hello again ...
I have a question about the bumpers made of metal profiles (I think they were already in use in the 60's) ; I wanna use the Rokuhan model, which is very similar, but I think I should remove the signal with the "white cross" ? And which colour should I repaint them ? I saw pictures with red lead, orange lead, white and yellow, but no black ... Thanks for any answer.

I presume you're talking about R013. Yes remove the "white cross." As far as the color, I use rust, I've rarely seen the iron with paint except when new. The face of the bumper may be painted white or yellow for visibility. The specific style of bumper depends a lot on the region and railroad. You might want to look at: www.zscalemonster.com/nzt/for some of the other styles used. Although these bumpers are no longer available, they may give you some additional ideas. Also a common "bumper" on rural lines is a dump truck load of ballast rock. Mark

1. I think you have it pretty much figured out. Leave out the signal/"white cross" piece and paint. 2. As Mark says..."rust", but red/orange/yellow too but a REALLY faded version of those colors...so more like pink/peach/off-white. And a thin rusty overcoat at the very least. 3. They are often beat up pretty badly as well...so dents and one or both arms bent are not unusual. 4. From my experience, far and away the most common of the stops is the Hayes version. (show as one of the products in Mark's link) I usually see them orange/peach or yellow/white. They are pretty easy to scratchbuild from styrene or brass sheet. EDIT: Here's a good clean pic of the Hayes style stop. www.railsco.com/~wheel_stops.htm Most I've seen are solid, so no cutout triangle area in the middle....and much easier to model that way.)

I have already bought the Rokuhan's (4 parts, for my 2 x 2 freight tracks) and as Mark wrote, I will use rust perhaps with some remaining "dots" of orange lead left and for the front, white for one station and yellow for the other, so it won't be too "even". About the Hayes stop, I see that they can normally "slide" on the rail, such devices were formerly used in Europe as a brake to slow down the cars during switching ... I have finished (and wired) the left curve for the town station and the next days I will assemble the remaining tracks and turnouts (town station and right curve), and then a big challenge will be the wiring from the different sections to the central "dispatching" relays ...

The Hayes stops are just that....stops. They are clamped on using large bolts. If they are sliding, something has gone terribly wrong.
