I am curious. Has anyone ever seen an RDC Budd, pulling regular passenger cars?

One of the "rules" from Budd was no pulling cars. That said (and ignored), The SP used their RDC to pull a mail storage car from Sacramento to Davis (train #241).
At the PCR/NWPHS convention, I came across an image of SP #10 running on the NWP and apparently pulling a PB heavyweight combine. No details available.
I seem to recall, that a couple of eastern roads pulled cars, but I'll leave that to people who are more familiar with east coast road than I.

Interesting. Thanks. It's something I always wondered about.

So, looks like it's capable of pulling atleast one extra car in the prototype world.
I'd say run it!

If only we had the Alaska RR RDCs, an upcoming lightweight or two would look great behind it. Sigh....

Gee, I didn't realize that the RDC had so much power they could pull 3 LV cars and a locomotive. As I recall, the RDCs were under 500 HP, so I don't think they pulled many cars. Doing a little checking, it seems that the PB combine, RPOs and mail storage were not particularly rare on some of the east coast roads, like the Reading.
