From time to time, people post images of unique, one-of-a-kind and you-gotta-be-kidding rolling stock. This is something that has always been of interest to me. Rob and many others post them in the forum, but sooner or later they get lost. I thought it would be interesting to group them all in one thread. So here it is. And here's my first contribution: Just goes to show that bashing happens to prototypes too. Mark

I'm game! I love that boxcar. Fresco, WP what the heck? I saw this one the other day. I thought it would make a fun modification to AZL's new Viewliner cars. This is one that was converted to an inspection car. www.railpictures.net/photo/651848/Rob

Mark's pix begs the question: Why do it?
Rob's link proves ...anything worth doing ...is worth over-doing.
I like this. AZL ...Make both!

Mark's pix begs the question: Why do it? I like this. AZL ...Make both! Why? Eye candy for train spotters? A challenge to modelers? I suspect some idiot drove a forklift through the side and Frisco panels were available...cheap. The road number appears correct for the WP half of the image. I'd love to see the other size of the car since this image suggests two halves. But sometimes one of a kind rolling stock just doesn't get the full paint shop treatment, particularly on short lines. A UP hand-me-down: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2273995An SP refugee: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4383402The STE car is probably best left to MTL. They have the base car already and the patches are just like their graffiti. Mark

Thanks Mark. You're right. It does look like the one panel was all that was replaced. I'd thought two wrecks were joined to make the one. That project would have been too much....
