Because of the small size...Good track work is essential to presenting Z scale in the best light. "Good Lighting" and skillful videography are helpful, as well.
The Model Train Stuff videos are plain awful. Comparing their AZL amfleet review to the Swiss Gotthard preview is "night and day" different. The Model Train Stuff review makes them look toylike. I've avoided buying the Amfleet cars ...just because I'd viewed the video, once.
Everything presents better with good editing and good music. Nothing, however, can get the Model Train Stuff images out of my mind. Awful, just awful.

Since I had no idea what the op was referring to, (and I suspect others wouldn't know either) I Googled around and here are the links: Model Train Stuff: Swiss Gotthard:

I personally don't think the quality of either video is stellar. The Model Trains Stuff video suffers from a poor angle and "too close up" but it does demonstrate the detail they are trying to pitch. (still photos intermixed into the video would have been much more effective)
The slightly higher angle and panned out view of the Swiss Gotthard video does a better job of hiding the ugly ride-height of the Amfleet cars and is overall more pleasing...I do agree with that.

I think Model Trains Stuff is using a layout for presentation, where the tracks have problems and curves are narrow. If I want to promote something then I should put it into the best possible light, in order to attract customers. Nobody is impressed to see a big loco like the P42 pulling two cars, Seeing two P42 pulling more than 30 is impressive. I recommend that Model Train Stuff upgrades to a state-of-the art layout! Best, Sven PS: ...and this is not a layout size problem but only quality. Take a look here - this is just 1m x 1m www.azlforum.com/post/7247/thread

I agree with Sven. What's with the two passenger cars? They point out how impressive the loco is pulling s long consist & then present a train that looks like it uncoupled most of its cars!

Good railroad photography (model or prototype) is an acquired art and not everyone has it. I know, it's why you rarely see me posting my images. The real question is are you buying a model locomotive or the image of one. I'm certain that for the right price they could find a skilled photographer to shoot superior images. But would it be worth an extra $10 on the price of the model?
If you're looking for something that really shows off the train I submit for your approval:

Thanks Mark That's the video that impressed me. In fact, I made my first ever YouTube comment about it. It couldn't have added much to the price?? Thank you again for posting it. Rory

Thanks Sven for that link. ...spent quite a while there. Did Jens do the video? Anyway it's good. The Model Train Stuff video was done with a fast telephoto lens so is a too shallow depth of field. Nothing stays in focus long. It is Nauseating.... That and the rough track made me feel queasy. Others may agree because they have 17 of the sets left. AZL direct and zscale monster are sold out. The announcer sounds so professional. Folks must think that's the best those cars can look. I'm just being honest...
