The BNSF has started to rollout rebuilt SD75Ms. The stand out feature of these is the BNSF swoosh lettering! Also, the trucks and fuel tanks are black versus the silver of the phase II scheme. I also find it interesting the BNSF dropped the road numbers from the 8000 series to a 200 series. Here are a few photos from Rail Pictures.net www.railpictures.net/photo/642200www.railpictures.net/photo/642198So is it time to dust off the SD75M tooling?? Rob

Speaking as a card-carrying BNSF fanatic, my vote is a resounding "no". The love affair that manufacturers have with the Swoosh scheme--applied to older locos especially--is downright painful to watch for those of us that don't model "December 26, 2017" or <InsertCurrentDateHere>. And if dealer stock is any indication they don't really sell that well...at least in N they haven't really...not sure how the Swoosh GP38-2's did in Z. Now, with the ES44's and 70ACe's it's a different story since there are so many of them in the real world and found systemwide. Compare to the older units that generally are stuck in captive service somewhere. I would much rather you: -"dust off" the ES44AC tooling (and/or dust up some ES44DC's) and do a BNSF H2 scheme... -"dust off" the GP38-2 tooling and do a BNSF H1 scheme. -"dust up" some new C44-9W's in plastic and do any number of BNSF schemes and ATSF/BNSF Silver & Red Warbonnet. -"dust off" the Bethgon Coalporter tooling and do about 20 schemes that we need including at least 3 BNSF versions and the most common scheme ever done on a Bethgon--and still everywhere, even today: BN. Yes plain old Burlington Northern....silver/green. (Not directly BNSF related but the orange-paneled TGNX's that complement your blue PNJX cars are also very high on my list) However, if you insist... then if you do decide to dust off SD75M's can you also do another run of non-flared UP SD70M's? I'll also throw in my vote for some "foobie" BN and/or BNSF Executive Scheme (green/cream) non-flared SD70M's to stand in for SD70MAC's. (or even better, make actual SD70MAC's in Z?) The beauty of the UP SD70M's is that (a) they're EVERYWHERE, (b) they can also "stand in" as SD60M's which are earlier era everywhere. And both original scheme and Flag scheme too. I don't model UP per se, but they do a lot of trackage rights, run through, reroutes, and pool power on the BNSF line I model so I need some UP power.

One thing I noticed on all of this series of loco's the GP38 -ES44DC's on to the SD60M -SD70 M . Front entrance door and port hole are missing . You made extra effort to get lot of small features but left that out in the Front most noted for Engines are front looks. I'm sure there was reason . just wondered . Thanks for up dated information. Eventually I will up grade my Monongahela to have grab handles in front with and port hole door . Thanks SpoilyBear
