What is the smallest diameter a end can have and still allow Marklin locos and rolling stock to run ok? The inside of my track oval is 15.25 inches and I want to put a figure 8 inside it. Maybe I can use flex track. Any suggestions for steam loco and cars that will run on a tight turn? Thanks Ron

The vast majority of Marklin gear is designed for a minimum radius of 145mm. The quick math says that's a diameter of 11.417 inches.
From personal experience, the best running layouts use 195mm radius. That equals 15.354 inch diameter.
I think your figure 8 inside the oval will be fine. Use flex track (Atlas makes some great stuff) and keep your parallel track center lines 1 inch apart. So in your case, make the inside of the figure 8 track a diameter of 14.25 inches.

Keep in mind passenger cars require more turning room than boxcars. So with your layout in mind, you may have to watch structures & landscaping placement.
