Here we have a name for people like this: scalper - a person who buys an inordinately large quantity of a product that they never intend to use, with the intention of making large profit reselling. Since this is the grey market, I will presume that AZL will not warrantee these items and the sellers clearly state no returns/no refunds, so let the buyer beware. But in this vein, I am formally putting in my preorder for 60 sets of the California Zephyr, 20 of each configuration. This way I can be sure I can get a set. I'll be auctioning off the rest starting at 5X MSRP.

While I understand the high price of older models, I find Krauss Maffei's incomprehensible. Unless of course the initial demand exceeded the production run. But that wasn't the case, as I clearly remember a couple locos weren't claimed by guys who had pre-ordered, and were put on sale directly by AZL. Be that as it may, I guess this kind of speculation just means the interest in Z scale is growing :-)

Any Feed-back about your locos? How do you use them in real life? Best, Sven

Both Challenger and BB with caboose, and AC12 on top, on a small unfinished diorama ...I actually need to sell one of my brass , the AC-12 (currently on ebay, together with a SP caboose), as I got health/job difficulties and I need to focuss on my initial project to move forward, ...and Southern Pacific is a bit "out of topic"... If someone is interested please send me a personal message. ..Charlie

A UP Challenger is for sale at 6,600+ USD 8 days before auction ends! I knew buying a brand new J class instead was a smart idea :-( Indeed, I was planning for that, too!! So we have to continue running UP when we want BIG STEAM !!!!................. All the best, Sven

I recently came across some really old pictures from Karl Sinn taken in the blazing sun on a Rokuhan-track diorama. They show Espee's GS-3 4422 before the Daylight train, which means this must have been AZL package 2701-2 GS-3 4422 | Daylight | 4 Car Passenger Set | Cars 2411, 2410, 2413, 2412 Best, Sven
