Great videos. I'm always impressed by the level of detail on European layouts. But I do wonder how they get them to a show. Are they shipped ready to run or is detail reapplied at the show?
I enjoyed seeing the open autoracks, even if they weren't Z. A very common sight through Niles Junction in the 1960s with a GM plant in Fremont (supported mainly by SP) and Ford in Milpitas (mainly WP). The covered autoracks ran until the plants closed in the 90s and 80s respectively, although it looks like there is the occasional autorack coming out of Tesla in Fremont today.
I was wondering what HO,e and HO,m stand for? I assume variants of gauge?
One minor detail I see. U.S. railroads would almost never run an open car ahead of tank cars for fear of loose debris from the car damaging the tank. It would normally be a boxcar. For the same reason, passenger sleepers were typically oriented with the aisle facing the adjacent track to protect passengers.

Hello Mark, yes the modules are completely ready for an exhibition. Only the electrical connections are made on site, and accessories, curtains, flags, spacers, etc.
The designation H0e and H0m are indications of the gauge: H0e is narrow gauge (9mm) in the model and H0m is meter gauge (12mm) in the model.
Best Regards Peter

California Dreaming, or a night mare? Here comes the story: I was sitting at my favorite rail fanning spot and already was waiting hours for a train to come, when I suddenly heard cars, slowly creeping up the old canyon road..... Strange, more than one car and all of them at least 60 years old but looking like new..... Very strange! I decided to take some pictures to show it later. May be somebody can explain this mystery?

This story is easy. The Amtrak California Zephyr travels the original Transcontinental route (celebrating it's sesquicentennial this year) and the scene screams Sierra Nevada. This must be the Lincoln Highway Association ( www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/ ) recreating the transcontinental army convoy (in 1919) crossing the Sierra somewhere around Colfax ( www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/ca/traveler/2019-01/traveler-2019-01.pdf ). They've brought their classic cars, but the remains of the old bridge has become challenging and the trucks in the convoy are forced to ford the stream elsewhere. How does that story work?

You know what's so interesting about this scene is how many railroading eras it can represent.
An SP E9 with perhaps a UP E8B and an assortment of Armour yellow cars (no dome) could be a 1953 City of San Francisco. And the autos would be brand new.
Or an SP Mikado or AC-12 (stretching it a bit here) and Pullman HW cars (6-3 and 12-1 sleepers) could be the 1927 all Pullman San Francisco Limited. But you'd need a couple model T cars for the road.
Or when the day comes when we have the California Zephyr in Z, it could be one of those days in the late 1950s when they had to detour through Donner Pass because of the construction of the Orville Dam. But the train has to move slowly as there are only inches to spare between the top of the Budd dome cars and the SP tunnel ceiling. But it could also be in the Feather River canyon after the dam work was completed.
