I'd love to see a more universal run of these type of cabooses's, since about every railroad ran them from the turn of the century till the mid-70's or so. Sure there were variations, but most were the common type.

Lack of the right caboose pulled me into scratch building, which is a also a lot of fun besides scenery stuff.

Excellent work Frank, as always!! I'll probably look for a cheap Marklin caboose and modify it for my Chehalis Western.

Will the GP30's have the correct headlight locations on these new releases? For example the CB&Q units should have low mounted headlights with Mars light in upper spots on cab. The BNSF 2401 shown is an ex- AT&SF GP30u rebuild with a low mounted headlight and blanked off upper lights (see photo). Image from rrpicturearchives.netBN 2212 being an ex-GN unit should have only the high cab mounted headlight. I can't speak for the other roads as I don't really follow them.

Will the GP30's have the correct headlight locations on these new releases? Hi Tim, The GP30 tooling only has one variation: With out without Dynamic Brakes. As far as I can remember, the headlights are in the same location for all road names. Best, -Rob(A)

Looks like we will have to add lower lights for the Q units. However if your painting is not set in stone for the BNSF units consider renumbering them to match the GP30's that used the high headlights. For example BNSF 2829 image from rrpicturearchives.net

And while we're requesting changes to not-set-in-stone paint, might I suggest the BN whiteface scheme versus stripes.

I guess the custom builders will be busy!

I agree with Dazed 100% on the whiteface scheme. I promise I will buy a whiteface but up in the air on the striped scheme. Surely that is enough to sway you to make the whiteface scheme.

Can you share which roadnames that will be included in the second run? Or would that just spoil the surprice. Will any of BN (white face yes please), SOO, MILW or CNW be included? Before I go ahead and ruin any of the ones I already have.
Cheers Mikael

Cheers Mikael Hmmm, now let me see how I can phrase this to not give away the whole list, while providing enough information that you can start a custom paint job... Oh! I know! How about THIS: More than one on your list was made, but BN White Face was NOT one of them. Best, -Rob(A) AZL

Thank you Rob. I don't want to spoil the surprice either. From your clear answer I take it that I can wait a little bit before stripping the paint off my UP-units. A part of me want to keep them.

Can you, also, state whether one of these road names is/was an AZL C44 brass release w/o giving up any other pertinent information?
