Beautiful work Sven! What is your favorite manufacturer of ground cover? Do you use real sand for the beach or is that a synthetic product?

I have been asked several times how the trains pass through the woods and where are they coming from. Here is a map of the layout. As you can see we had to lead a track behind the background in order to not destroy the depth illusion created by the background. Nevertheless the trees on the module create a permanent black shadow in which we put the tiniest possible hole which still allows trains to pass through. if you follow the tracks on the layout now with your finger and imagine you are a train, you will be surprised how many driving possibilities you have although there is only a very limited amount of tracks laid. Best, Sven

The eye immediately is pulled towards the sailing school and the rail road crossing. Here you see that you don't see anything from the usual observer angle how the connection through the background is working. You just see trains come and go - like in real life! Enjoy! Best, Sven

A big THANK YOU to Aaron and Steve for providing me with Chessie and Maryland locos. Our layout would be nothing without your dedication to these trains, ..... - to be continued -

The high profile model railroad exhibition "Ontraxs 2017" is history. We presented our Z-scale layout. It was the first Z-layout ever invited to an Ontraxs exhibition. You find videos here: azlforum.com/post/8987The other layout are just spectacular and the museum an eye-catcher......... The videos are a must watch !!! Best, Sven

For most of the visitors of the Ontraxs 2017 it was the first time that they learned about AZL....... ......and they were deeply impressed. We consider applying for the Ontraxs next time with a purely US layout. The planning has already started.......... Enjoy! Sven
