Awesome news. Obviously the Dash 9's are an incredible announcement. Bittersweet because I abandoned my big plans for Z just at the wrong time. But anyway, I'll still be in for a few Dash 9's and AC4400's most likely. Almost as exciting to me is the airslides. Love these cars and even though their numbers were dwindling during my era they were still doing work, and then many got extended life as buffer cars.

Don't forget to (continue to) dance with thems that brought you to the party, like the Rogue 4 axle GP38-2 road engine. 4 axle road locomotives played a part in 1:1 railroading, and even today in 1:220 railoading with 145mm curves in most briefcase layouts. The AZL GP38-2 farewell tour planning is nice, but since the AZL infatuation with six-axle-truck road engine locos, nothing new from AZL on the four-axle road locomotive front. But there HAVE been more modern 4 axle truck locs since those 50's-60's locs AZL has resurrected. The DASH 8 four axle version would be an excellent candidate for downsizing to Z, and corner a noch layout like it is on rails, even looks modern!: Attachments:

I hope the Alco RS-3 re-run will include READING in the plain dark green with yellow lettering, and ROCK ISLAND in black with red stripe lined white ‘Route of the Rockets’ livery. ( #488 to match my gauge 1 model = perfect ! )

Airslides like these, Doug? Thom, exactly. That GATX Light Blue car is one of my favorite all time schemes. And yeah....of course (after typing that previous sentence) I just checked and that's not one of the schemes on the list. There are still plenty that will make my Want List...BNSF Mineral Red, Burlington Northern, GATX Gray, BNSF Green/Patched, and Santa Fe...and possibly one or two others depending on whether or not they're available as singles. They're just neat cars and I know AZL will do them right. It certainly appears to be an amazing model from the preliminary pics.

Did I hear Western Maryland in the up coming releases ? Pinch me. I must be sleeping The RS3 announcement got a bit garbled between the takes, but they did clearly mention WM. NYC, and Boston and Maine too.

There was also a previous hint that the 2nd run of Alco RS would include C&NW RSD-5 #1689, preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum.
