Roadnames for the “mid month” release will be: Southern Pacific Santa Fe And Norfolk Southern More details to follow “Southern Pacific” … “Santa Fe” … Hmmm … Skyboard-split hollow core door layout with one side east coast, the other side west coast. All new scenery. All new road names. This way, every AZL release would pose a pressing temptation. Coast-to-coast style on a door—Has it been done before? Scott

"Coast-to-coast style on a door—Has it been done before?" Available since 2003: MÄRKLIN 81835 MEET ME IN NEW ORLEANS 2 TRAIN 2 CIRCUIT STARTER SET Prototype: Marklin wanted to represent American railroading from coast to coast. For the west coast railroad Marklin chose the Southern Pacific, which has track in Texas and Louisiana through it's subsidiary the Texas and New Orleans Railroad (T&NO.) For the East Coast operator Marklin chose the Southern Railway and it's famous Crescent Limited Express Passenger service. Both trains would "Meet me in New Orleans" thereby showcasing the US coast to coast railway service in one set! on a door...will marklin fit? The height for all passage doors must be a minimum of 80 inches and the standard width sizes for interior doors are 24”, 28”, 30”, 32” and 36” And the winner is: The winner, using just a little more than half the size specified...Marklin! The two-track layout measures 1112x452mm (appx 44 inches x 17 inches.) AZL could do that if they wanted to. The already have a AZL Southern Pacific 2-Train Operation Starter Set. Make one of the trains an east coaster. Or maybe do a FEC to ARR, tip to tip by including an ARR train car ferry barge model for the Whittier - Anchorage leg. www.trainweb.org/ultradomes/features/05barge8.jpgwww.trainweb.org/ultradomes/features/bargeloading.html

with the extreme cold since the first of the year: if the locomotive inventory is stored in an unheated warehouse, perhaps the azl elves are busy reseating the pcbs on the next batch to be released before they can be shipped, much less announced.

Look how far we are into the new year. Already dissolutions have plagued my resolutions. Shame on me! Where is my newfound sense of organization? BTW, there is much joy in that. Knowing where things are—I consider that part of being organized. So glad, too, in efforts to maintain organization, I found my Magic Eight Ball. Dusted him off and, to my question, received this answer: Signs point to yes. The question was: Will the AZL release be hyphenated as such: January Part II-February Part I?
Thought I’d share that.

It will be sometime next week. Rob K likes to keep on a strict schedule. Me? Not as much. Maybe this release was being shipped on a Boing 747 air-freighter and one of the engines caught on fire and then the cargo door popped off and they flew out in the middle of a blizzard...

Or, Ohio was hit with a snowstorm this week. I suspect Rob had to walk two miles uphill, both ways to get to the mailbox and back. The mid month release is still thawing out….

There's a SP SD40T-2 tunnel motor in the banner now, so just a matter of time before the dealers start posting the new releases!
