How about a GE U23B? There were almost 500 built.

Plenty of work on our side. Our factory have their bottlenecks and we feel we are not ready to announce other locomotive projects until we have a better feeling where we are in the queue. Hopefully we can announce another locomotive project late Spring / early Summer

I'd be happy with some re-runs of GP38-2 (NS CSX BNSF Swoosh). Same with ES 44AC and SD 70ACE of the sold out ones (BNSF, UP). Maybe some P42's in Amtrak's current scheme. Would love to see Siemens Chargers someday..

3railgreg,
All good ideas. Very much so. I am sure Hans and Rob et al will continue to pursue them after they tackle these gems:
• the Pacific • the GP40
Either of the above seem such natural outgrowths of the current catalog of locomotives offered by AZL.
Not only is the Pacific a successor to the Mikado, but a ubiquitous mid-century locomotive. The mechanism of the Mikado paves way, naturally, to the assembly of the Pacific. Am I right?
GP40s were everywhere when I was a kid. With the shell of all ready released GP38-2 and the forthcoming SD40-2, a simply derivative choice would be tooling for the GP40.
Forgive me, Hans and Rob et al, should I have spoiled the news from the workshop or continuum.

How about a GP60. Even thought CSX only has 3 of them, but they are very unique.

Just a note to our vintage GP38-2. Not sure if you know, but we have changed almost every tooling part of it since the original RLW version. And even with improvements it may soon be headed into retirement. We thought like many of you it would be a good platform for a GP40 or GP40-2, but it is not to our current standards of locomotive design. Maybe we will do a final farewell run of the GP38-2 next year to round it up. We could probably write a 200 page book about our GP38-2.

So many trains, so little time. This holds more so for Z as there are 100s of rolling stock and dozens of locomotives yet to be produced in Z. We haven’t even covered all the categories of locomotives, we still need a passenger steam locomotive, such as a Pacific and a steam switcher. As far as specific models, there are at least a dozen that I want to add to the dozen I have, that AZL has already produced. As long as they have SP, WP or UP on the side I’m happy.
As far as announcements, I’ve found that AZL is like TVs Mr. Ed who “never speaks unless he has something to say.” So I have no complaints about the lack of announcements. In fact, I rather the the Christmas morning-like surprise when they keep a project or two secret until the last minute.

Mark you know AZL doesn't horse around... I don’t know about that. NS is probably the most produced color scheme from the east.
