Hello fellow forumists.
Since there is no commercial model of a CP GP9 around.. I decided to "build my own" using an AZL NYC Geep as a starting point. Got as far as painting and adding an decal.. for the remaining decals I asked " The Z Maker" if he could do one. It it wasn't for the the stripes, I'd just buy another set of his SW1200 decals and cut the numbers.. (I might eventually do this also for the stripes). Having painted countless HO an HOn3 lokies an cars, doing so in Z wasn't really that hard at all. Sind I also have an SW1200 in the works, I might as well put the Geep aside until I get a hold of the decals . No Hurry. BR Boris

Thank you. The Packman is a decal☺️. Otherwise I would not have done it.

I would like to follow your lead and eventually paint up some GP9s in the big multi mark and TH&B schemes.

Disassembly went easy.. making for clean paint lines. The carbody and fram got sprayprimed an painted. I brushpainted the black an white areas.
If I can get ahold of decals I guess I have to buy a bunch if they are custom made. I'll be sharing them with you folks of course..
I'd go for brighter red if I was to run a factory fresh looking engine. Most of the Old Gerps looked well kept but faded. I want to replicate that state.

Thank you. I guess the SW1200 will be ready first.. if the Shorty gets here. Meanwhile I will work on the barge and approach.. Freight cars are on hand.. 😆 I will have some leftover wood and stuff from my Campervan conversion .. as I said no hurry BR Boris

I would like to follow your lead and eventually paint up some GP9s in the big multi mark and TH&B schemes. Update The Z Maker can do the CP decals with the small packman logo. One decal sheet per engine.. 4 road # on the sheet, one road # will be 8820. Any of you have suggestions for the other 3? A sheet will be around 20$ + s/h. Let me know wishes for 3 other # Otherwise I'll just pick them from pics😆 BR Boris

Hi fellow Zetties.
The moment has come to unveil the CP Geep. Z_Maker made a cusom set of decals for me and they slid and snuggled up nicely. So here we go.. CP 8820 factory fresh. Of course I will add some weathering as I did on the Rio Grande Geep.. but a tad lighter as the pics of 8820 that I have show her in good shape with just some faded paint.
I might do a fictious Alco RS3m (with a EMD Hood like the MKT had) in CP livery.. (oh yeah nitpickers and purists this will be a hard one to swallow)...
The Tug an Barge are 3D prints that were brushpainted and weathered. That lil 3D printer has already paid off...

Has a factory finish to it, nice work! C'mon AZL, how's about another round of GP7/9 releases? CP Rail, BN, GN, MRL, NP, etc.

Hi fellow Zetties
Thank you for the kind words🙏🏻☺️. It's encouraging for the next project. (That Shapeways SW1200 does not count because it just lacks the drive which is on the " BigBarge"🤣.
She turned out really nice and runs so smooth..
Yeah a re run of those old time Geeps would be appreciated.. maybe a CP Version with small stripes and large PacMan? And AZL don't forget the matching Caboose.. I improvised with a yellow Pennsy Caboose with an added PacMan .. 🤷🏼♂️
BN would be cool too.. hmm a cross country Barge ops in a fictious BC-Washington State area🥳😆?🤫🤔 BR Boris

That looks so good, it'll look good being floated around on a barge floating on Slocan Lake.
