SP E8 loco numbers are wrong. These numbers belong to a large batch of SD45 locos. The E9 series are in the 6000’s, not the 9000’s. Preceding this announcement, see also my post under the December part 1 heading. The 1954-built E9 batch were numbered 6046 - 6054. ( My source:- Guide to North American Diesel Locomotives, Jeff Wilson, Kalmbach, 2017, page283 ). That seems correct. Check the brass E8 units, they were all numbered in the 6000`s Best, Sven

Good book if you can find it. "The Vista-Dome North Coast Limited: The Story of the Northern Pacific Railway's Famous Domeliner" by William R. Kuebler Jr. I got my Loewy NP F7's ordered, and decals made to renumber some. Can't wait for the NP freight units. Robert, If you’ll share decals, I’ll order more F7s while they’re available. BTW: got the crushed roof fixed on the NP station you built Looks nice.. Thanks again!

At this time a bit of delay will be appreciated as I have others to spend money on (children, grandchildren) besides myself for Christmas!

in case it was too subtle, this is why yesterday I suggested that the new units must be E9s (or at least one of them must be).

The SP E8s will not be released before the numbers are changed Will we get a tip-off when the locos are to be released with their correct 6000 series numbers, please ?

Obviously not, to answer my own question. My usual supplier showed 9047 as sold out, so I quickly ordered one from another dealer who still had stock. It has now arrived, and, you guessed it, is numbered NINE 047, so the claim that the locos would not be released until the numbers were changed to the correct 6000 series is not so. Will AZL provide a replacement shell/body/skin with correct numbers, perhaps ?
