I'll never discourage new and improved locomotives in Z, but I'm not a fanatic about this one. WP had none, they hated 6 axis locomotives. For the SP they were all "tunnel" types, but I haven't seen anything where that would suggest that option will be available.

BCOL and Penn Central SD40-2's would be nice to see in Z. I don't believe there is any BCOL power in Z at the moment and not a whole lot of Penn Central power ether.

As a Canadian collector, I hope AZL produces some of our regional lines. I know it's not normally financially possible for them to produce anything other than CN/CP/VIA but this quote from the early development post gives me a bit of hope: "The list of original and secondary SD40-2 operators is substantial and rest assure, we will produce the majority." MT produced a British Columbia Rail but an AZL version would be nice to have. I would really like Ontario Northland since MT already makes rolling stock but I'd buy anything Canadian. Attachments:

Actually, Penn Central didn't roster any -2's. The SD40's they had were either inherited from the Pennsy or new units purchased after the bankruptcy. There is definitely a lack of PC power in z, just the MT GP-35's, if you can find 'em.

If there were more Penn Central locomotives and rolling stock in Z I might consider switching over entirely. I'm happy AZL decided to make PC SW1500's, I hope they consider doing more for Penn Central.

The Milwaukee Road version is gonna' kill my bank account!! 3 minimum for me, and I'll have to get a fourth and re-number it 190, cause I have the builder plate from the real one!

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Great stuff. Love those MILW units...one of the few that I don't believe I ever saw in person...if it was it would have been later in life as a "SOO Bandit". (I know...blasphemy)
Like the NS/Maersk Sealand unit too. Same vibe as the green/silver FURX units I like so much.

We *may* need to price some of these a bit higher (15% or so) to cover the expenses of short runs for smaller railroads - any perhaps pre-orders too.

I would buy a whiteface Burlington Northern one; a tiger stripe would be even better.
