D&H suggests we might see some sleepers for the Montreal Limited?

Why no FA (NYC or NH) ? I think the chassis should be the same ...

Why no FA (NYC or NH) ? I think the chassis should be the same ... FAs are substantially shorter (no steam generator)

4 axle versus 6 axle trucks as well, but be nice to see those down the rails as well. UP, GN, SP&S, etc.

So, no hope to see FA's in a near future ...
But, in the sixties, it would perhaps not be absolutely silly using a PA in freight service ? Look here and there (but is it really a PA and not a FA, I look at the trucks ... )

Look here and there (but is it really a PA and not a FA, I look at the trucks ... ) No, like most locomotives, the PAs were not exclusive to a particular service. The factory gearing would make them poor freight pullers, but as a fast freight: mail storage, maybe an RPO, and a couple of overnight boxcars, they’re a good possibility.

So, hoping for the PA1 (sold without B unit ! ) to come in black-white-orange NH version (as shown on the picture). And hoping that it won't cause issues on turnouts, as I read for some former CC versions which had no vertical "float" for the middle axles, too (at the present moment, I have only BB-engines) !

Prototypically, the PAs were shorter than the EMD E units and I’ll assume for the moment that AZL will be using a truck at least as good, so I wouldn’t anticipate any problems. I would hope A units only would be available very few, relatively speaking B units or sets were sold.

We will have a good mix of sets and single A units. Maybe single B units as well depending on true railroad consists.

Hans,
When you mention possibly doing Brazilian PAs, I assume you are not hinting at introducing broad gauge (1.6m proto, 7.25mm) to Z?
If you ever do Brazil, let me know, I can make suggestions for RDC1, GP9 (meter gauge, on T scale track?) and I know people.
Mark
