El Capitan is going to look *awesome* running at shows (and home, once I extend the layout). Likely be a chance to get one, since some are tapped out from the Chief but AZL’s thinking we know how many, this time Get a DCC board into the SW would be great. Thanks for the tour!

Neat stuff!
I would definitely be in for AutoMax cars. Would buy several from the earlier era (early/mid 2000s) of these including BNSF Large Logo, BNSF Small Logo, KCS, CSX, and AutoMax (AOK). There are a number of newer schemes/owners too as time has flown by. I think these cars would be quite popular in general, but speaking for me, I'm all in. They are one of my list of three "BNSF-ey cars that I want" along with the Maxi-IV's and Trinity 5161 Covered Hoppers. (along with more Bethgons)
There's also a modern opportunity for the Hi-Level Transition Coach as an Amtrak car which was used on (among other things) the Heartland Flyer into the late 2000's. So if you're ever looking to get more mileage out of that tooling, it's an option. You could do the shortest name train in the world...the Heartland Flyer consist for most of its first 10 years was: 1. Hi-Level Transition Coach 2. Superliner Coach/Cafe 3. Hi-Level Transition Coach and the better news for AZL is it had a loco on each end...often had two P42's or P42 and F40PH "Cabbage" bracketing the coaches...quite the loco to car ratio there! I honestly doubt there would be a huge demand for the Amtrak cars (Kato did them in N eventually) but it would be neat to see them. I would buy two of them for sure.

It's great to see the video. Fun things coming up. Looking forward to the Alco PA/PB in plastic for D&RGW. One alternative use of an Alco PB that you may or may not be aware of is I'm hoping to use one PB along with F7A/F7B's because a PB was converted for use as a steam generator for use with both the Rio Grande Zephyr and the Denver Ski Train. (See www.drgw.net/info/SteamGeneratorCar). Hopefully the motor and gearing will be the same between F7's and Alco PA/PB's.

PA1 and McKinley Explorer? 1 winner! 2 El Capitan 1. I put down what I would have liked. Some have called it one of the most beautiful and streamlined engines. Yes! I remember a couple of years ago on this forum I stated that I dreamed about AZL redoing all their brass diesels in plastic. So that we could get all the goodness and let the die hard collectors have their brass versions which most of us would never be able to afford or even see. At the time, Rob shot the idea down saying that I "had to be kidding". Well, it's starting to look like AZL is moving in that direction of rereleasing their brass diesels in plastic. Thanks, Rob, Hans, and Rob. My dream is still alive. 2. I wouldn't have guessed they would do the El Capitan since they just released the Super Chief. Perhaps release a different Name Train to keep the various fans happy with differtent releases. Oh, but wait. It all makes sense now. How they were able to do such a quick 2nd round on Red Warbonnet F7's after selling out so quickly. They were doing TWO name trains that could use the same locomotive power. So they ordered lots of F7's for SF ahead of time. That's some damn good planning. Once again AZL continues to amaze and impress, not only with detail and quality, but also foresight in planning and releasing. Thanks again, Rob, Hans, and Rob. Also looking forward to the SW's and even more future releases. Gallery commuter cars maybe? F40PH's?

Like the PA/PB anouncement, nicest loco ever!
Well, on the other hand I can retire another 2 of my product lines, that's now up to no. 6....Good on you, guys, smashing it, guess its the fate of a small series builder, I stay with re-paints for the future....

I suspect that a strong motivation for producing additional F7s was the soon to be released El Capitan. Lack of suitable power for the El Capitan would probably limit sales to some degree. Maybe a set of warbonnet FP45s would go nicely also! Mark

Some very impressive work. although someone may complain about regional bias, a big win for Northern California modelers. The PA was THE locomotive for SP out of the Bay Area: COSF, Overland, the Daylights as well as numerous locals. I can only hope AZL builds enough in the Daylight colors. While I'm not all that attached to ATSF, with the release of the El Capitan, at first glance it looks like I could model the San Francisco Chief, which was mostly recycled El Capitan. I think I can get away with just adding a Super Chief sleeper set. And I do have fond memories: Hey isn't that a PA? I may even try to model the modern Coast Starlight. The prototype ATSF transition car looks close enough and I might even try my hand at the Pacific Parlor, if RobA promises never to produce one. Pity we couldn't get you to sell just a transition-lounge add on set. Mark
