I’ve just learned that a major part of Talent OR has been consumed by fire. The state map shows the 300 block of Rogue River Parkway was consumed, including Micro-trains. Hopefully this is not the case. Without a doubt some of their employees will have lost their homes. I wish them and Micro-trains a speedy recovery. Maybe Z scale can show it’s support by buying their product.

Medford has been cleared out, as well....
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected.

Yesterday I received a mail from case-hobbies ( German dealer ) saying that MTL is not affected by the fire, only electicity and water will be stopped for a week. The mail showed a foto of the MTL factory without any visible damage and two pics, shot from the factory towards the (former ) town of Talent. Looked like a warzone. What a increddible scenery, which we can see every day on TV. All these innocent people, all their dreams and all their belongings! I hope the good lord helds his hand above them all.

Their are several post with pictures on Facebook showing Micro Trains still standing, and the other side of the street leveled everything gone burned to the ground. Apparently they survived but Sadly many of their employees have lost everything. Left with nothing more than piles of ashes where their homes once stood. copied from MTL's post on Facebook "Micro-Trains Line Company Micro-Trains factory and contents were spared the fire in our region." linklinklink

Thanks for the updates, guys. The CA and OR fires are horrendous and my heart goes out to all who have lost so much or who remain in harm’s way. Hurricanes scare the devil out of me this time of year but at least we are getting rain!

I’m glad to read they were spared. The community will really need those jobs now and I’m pleased they still have product. From the ash and soot I’m cleaning up here, they’ll have weeks for recovery: I’m miles from the fires here, MTL is across the street!
Anyone know how the local Z community is doing?

There is a GoFundMe site set up to help the MTL employees that lost everything. See: gf.me/u/yxu7q4 .

Hurricanes scare the devil out of me this time of year but at least we are getting rain! Absolutely. I’m in Houston, so I’m very glad we missed Hurricane Laura but very sad to see what happened in Lake Charles, LA, just to the east of here. What a train wreck of a year this has been.
