Wow, must've been a few fatality's there! I’ve driven by the location, Grenada, MS, and stopped in the area numerous times over the decades, and never heard about it until now. Apparently, the old high speed Illinois Central passenger trains, like “The City of New Orleans,” used those rails, running from Chicago to New Orleans, with a resulting number of fatal collisions at this particular crossing. The dramatic crossing warning no longer stands but you can still see the concrete base supports on Google Satellite, at least on the south side of the road. www.google.com/maps/@33.8056236,-89.8015491,19z/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en-us Here’s a video simulation of it in operation. With an air raid siren blaring, I wouldn’t have wanted to live nearby.

Or look for a good designer, for 3D-printing the structure ...

You could no doubt cobble something together by “kit bashing” some available towers and structures, and using things like Evergreen plastics and LEDs. I have more than enough stuff to keep me busy on my layout, so it would be very low on my “to do” list. Plus, I don’t have an air raid siren readily available. 😉 It’s still the weirdest signal crossing I’ve ever heard of.
