We hope to have the first CAD drawings just after the Summer. Will share as soon as they become available. In the mean time we can reveal the most likely railroads to be included in the first run. And no surprise we have the usual suspects: UP, ATSF, BN, C&NW, MILW, Conrail, CP, CSX, BNSF, NS, CN (IC) and B&O Chessie. We are also considering L&N, SOO, WC, RI, FEC and Southern. The second run will include several smaller railroads and different paint scheme variations from the Class 1 railroads. Stay Healthy! Will Wheeling Lake Erie be one of the smaller railroads in second run?

So, how was Micro trains able to have a plow already installed on the front truck and make it functional? And you have to do the "swap" thing with AZL, and I am guessing it is non functional like other AZL locos? (ie sd 70M). Maybe I have missed something?

Seriously, we tried body-mount couplers with the SD40-2, but they failed horribly. So we went back to the tried and true method that we've used many times before. Great running? Truck mount coupler. Amazing details? put in the plow. You get to choose.

I had a MT CP GP40-2 which I sold (perhaps prematurely?) in anticipation of getting an AZL one (or two ). The plow looked nice, but tended to catch when coming off an incline.

You remember? Best, Sven

Hate to tell it, but AZL has to work with higher costs and lower skills, today.

Brilliant marketing and great timing ! 4 issues in a month. It’s not as if people have any other demands on their finances in December, is it ?

Brilliant marketing and great timing ! 4 issues in a month. It’s not as if people have any other demands on their finances in December, is it ? Ha, good point. (and not to mention the 6 consecutive weeks of Black Friday tempation) I commiserate, as I not only had more than a couple of Z purchases, I also had several major items on order that hit in N as well, and more to come in 2024Q1. I had decided I was in the clear for the rest of 2023 after the PFE special dropped last night (with zero interest from me) so I ordered some GP7's that I had been on the fence about....and literally about 4 minutes later the (must purchase for me) ATSF SD40-2 appeared!!! But this is probably a no-win for AZL. They release all these cool things and it overloads us, they don't and we're standing around tapping our proverbial feet impatiently. The other thing is...it seems AZL has a pretty healthy pipeline of products coming very soon and if they don't get things rolling they'll have a logjam really quick. So I guess this is just one of those "good problems to have."
