Just curious, will you eventually make the "straight" SD40? ie. no porch on the rear end?

Just curious, will you eventually make the "straight" SD40? In N-Scale, Kato was able to utilize a single chassis for both their SD45 and SD40. One wonders if AZL could do the same and thus--boom--half the problem is solved. And a good portion of the shell is solved already as well, from the design standpoint. Personally I would love it...I would buy BN, BN Whiteface, ATSF, and MRL and wouldn't blink. Probably SP and maybe UP as well. From AZL's standpoint, I fear there wouldn't be enough differentiation for most of the Z market between the straight 40 and the SD40-2. At very least, I probably wouldn't drop it on the heels of the SD40-2 releases. Maybe something to look at after the 60s though. |

SD40-2 update:
I'm expecting 3 palates on Monday.
Furthermore, this is not the only new tooling product that I expect before the end of 2023.
