I had the same feelings, it’s just a bit much too soon and both SD40-2 releases are West Coast roads. If the Southern Pacific SD40T-2 get released before New Years or for New Years I’ll be screwed. If there wasn’t the constant fear of items selling out, I guess it would be ok with 4 releases a month.

Perhaps the answer is larger/longer production runs, satisfying more customers and increasing turnover and profit for the company, or is that too simplistic ?

From my understanding, that is exactly what they already do. They do the entire run of a dozen or more roadnames all at once. Some roadnames might sit at AZL World Headquarters for as long as 2 years waiting for their "month" depending on the number of roads, etc. This is contrast to, say, Atlas...who does a only a handful of roadnames that are announced, preorders accepted, production volume adjusted based on preorders, production completed, and all of the 5-6 roads are released all at once when they get off the container. Atlas, ScaleTrains, et al also have detailed release schedules so you know when you're about to be on the hook for several hundered dollars. |

Can anyone confirm if the Rock Island will be offered?
Also, do we have a list of the smaller railroads that ran these for the second run?

Do these locomotives have flangeless centre axles ?
What is the minimum radius they will go round - 195 or 220 mm ?
