It's been announced that the Alameda county fairgrounds are closed for at least the next 30 days. The train show has been cancelled for this year. That makes the International Rail Fair in October at the Sacramento Scottish Rite the only possibility for Nor Cal this year.

I'm here in Western Washington State, pretty much everything is shutting down. Governor has put into law no gathering of more than 250 people, so any and all normal daily functions are shut down. Good thing I have lots of modelling stuff to keep me occupied.

David This is why we need ZScale only events. We'll never get over 250 people. BTW: The disconnected Marklin steel mill kits are now over $400.

I don't know. Some counties here are limiting events to 100 and the Z scale conventions that MTL put on exceeded that.
At the moment I'm more concerned about the NMRA convention/NTS in St. Louis. They keep pushing out the convention schedule and hotel reservations. Latest post is for mid-March, or now. The PCR convention is still scheduled for the end of April in Concord. Responses to the outbreak seen rather mixed.

Z scale only isn't a guarantee: the show in Altenbeken, Germany later this month is also canceled....

Yep. Everyone should stay home. Coronavirus is very contagious.
Most can easily beat it ...but old folks have trouble quickly gathering immune components. Because exponential growth of trillions of their gut bacteria over time eats-up all their protein groceries ...an older body has to decide where to steal the needed amino acids from. Not severe if quickly stopped. Hard to heal once it gets going.

David This is why we need ZScale only events. We'll never get over 250 people. I wish it was that easy. Finding a place to hold it will be difficult enough, finding a fordable place even more so. Getting enough Z scale Vendors and displays to make it worth attending? yea right! Sure a lot of people say their interested and would come to the show or would be willing to help out. But when it comes right down to it, Around here its usually just 2 or 3 of us who set up and man the layout at shows. I've offered free admission to the show, (By paying for it myself if needed) posted bring your trains and run them, or take over the throttle and run some of ours if they liked. Yet on more than one occasion its been just Bryan and myself to handle it all. The other 3 active members of our group help when they can but its rare, Very Rare that everyone's schedule permits us all to be at the same show at the same time. Now add the corona virus in the mix and well its a nice thought and I wish it could happen, but Quite honestly i think everyone who reads this has a better chance of hitting the Power Ball jackpot every week for the next 3 weeks in a row than we do of pulling off a successful Z-Scale only show at this point in time. Now don't get me wrong I'm not giving up or trying to be negative I'm just being realistic as its just the way it is around here right now. and if anyone has any ideas of how we can recruit new members and get more people interested in Z scale, Please post up Let me hear your suggestions. Good or bad post it up i will not get offended as obviously we are not doing the right things or maybe we are doing something wrong in our attempts to recruit new members. Any Help would be Appreciated David
