Whoa, love that station! Is that your design you built? Never seen it before, looks great, as does all your other building!

I think you've nailed the area. Very nice layout. Operational too.

Hello guys Finaly, I have received and construted the signal tower laser kit from Archistories. This kit is very fine, but too fine for my skills
The metalic stairs to the first floor, were a nightmare to build, and I did not succeed to put them square. I have some glue on the windows, and I had to replace the chimney by a new constructed in styrène I Have made some mistakes...
But from the viewer perspective, from 30cm away , it is ok, and it graces this part of the layout

Looks good, but is very brittle (especially the handrails at the stairs would be better made of photo-etched brass) ... I used Faller (almost the same style) and had no issues. On my layout there are only injection moldings and 3D-prints (and the photo-etched windmill of the farm), no lasercuts ; I tested at the beginning but stopped quickly (I read that one should varnish finished models, to avoid "fingerprints" ). I think that lasercuts are a way of going back and forget all progresses made (Texrail may remember some Faller HO structures in the early 60's, "Wände aus gestanztem Karton" ).

Well, I hate to disagree, but I disagree...
I love lasercut kits and I think they look great and most are 'do-able'. Some are very intricate and hard to get right, I readily admit I messed up one or two myself
Lasercut cardboard or lasercut wood makes some differences, wood is easier to handle and less risk of messing up with glue than with cardboard.
I never use varnish on them, btw and they still are fine after three or four years.
My 5 (euro) cents... Matt

Crooked...?
Yes, but intentionally! This is the original:
Meaning to say... I really like that Archistories tower and I think it came out great, Ptittrainrouge!

thx the basic pb is not the kit, but the modeler but I agree that for very thin parts, like stairs, hand rails, wood would be better. for the structure of the building, cardboard is ok
