Many thanks for what appears to be a nice clean format, and people are actually kind and respectful to each other!
I have modelled in HO for many years, but my real modelling passion has been 1/350 warships from the first half of the 20th century . So, moving to Z Scale is a big jump "upwards". There are, however, many disciplines which cross over both of these scales: miniature detailing with photo etched parts, masking & painting, decaling and so on. Once one is used to scratch building in 1/350, Z scale is much less challenging.
What would my wish list for Z Scale be? RS3's, SW1200 & SW1500's (I see MTL has one coming), some real Z track plans (not adapted HO and N plans). I believe Model Railroader has only one in its large track plan data base.
I now have a Pullman Heavyweight CN baggage car, with plans to assemble a complete Canadian National passenger train, pulled by a period-correct CN locomotive. Kudos to AZL for doing a magnificent job on these.
And, with that for an opening salvo, I will read on and enjoy everyone's comments.
