domes 893 and 200 have domes that look like BUDD and not like P-S....there is a difference but everyone should be willing to make some comprise....the diners (and some other cars of the MP) had porthole windows...this is a problem for tooling and costs...so I repeat that it would not have been terrible to use the NP (Empire Builder) tooling and use Eagle colors for a diner....the compomise on the diner would have been no worse than the dome differences....finally, I am happy with what AZL has done for z-scale, your products are fine....so, AZL, keep doing your best....everyone needs to accept some compromises...now could we have a diner for the EAGLE, sometime, maybe....thanks!

some years ago, in N-scale with undecorated passenger cars from KATO, I became very involved in airbrushing and creating many of the passenger trains that interested me. . . particularly the ones that used St. Louis, MO, Union Station . . . such as the COLORADO EAGLE, The Texas Special, FRISCO, Bluebird, North Coast Limited, Southern Belle, etc . . . so in doing this, I needed decals and I created the necessary artwork and sent it to Rail Graphics in Elgin, IL . . . they made great decals, N-scale, and I still have fragments and whole pieces remaining . . . they are well preserved and still useable . . . if anyone would be interested, I am willing to share at no cost . . . they are N-scale . . . however, in my modeling experience, I always found it better to oversize slightly for readability . . . on a somewhat different theme, if anyone from AZL reads this, I would like to obtain an undecorated diner (such as the one used in the Empire Builder) and create my own diner (not prototypically correct) for THE EAGLE train from AZL. . . I can place COLORADO EAGLE on the letterboard and do a color airbrush as close as possible . . . it might work . . . worth a try....thanks

Herb, thats a generous offer! As I missed the MP coaches, I would try to paint some Marsilius coaches in the right colours and then to experiment with a AZL diner. It might be possible to close the windows with styrene and drill portholes on one side. The glazing can be done with " crystal clear". A good project for Gerd, btw. As I´m modelling West-Texas, the TEXAS EAGLE is the preferred decals, but as You said, compromises are sometimes necessary. So, if You have some decals left, I would be more than happy.... Best regards, Ingo

I assume that you would want the letterboard to say THE EAGLE.... my decals have numbers in three-digit sequences so you don't have to do numeral by numeral .... M.P. is on the decal sheet . . . T.P. is not since I was only concerned with Missouri PAcific ....your diner car might be 525-527 for TP... my information is taken from CAR NAMES, NUMBERS, and CONSISTS by Robert Wayner, 1972 edition.....this is now probably out of print as I was offered $500 for my copy recently....I have begun to downsize my N-scale system and have sold several custom painted trains for big $.....it is still hard to part with them.....but money does help.....I am moving into Z-scale thanks to AZL and their quality products.....let me know as to what WORDS you would like on the decal sheet and somehow we need to exchange addresses, etc.....let me know.....I am so glad to help with your project.

Hi texrail....I just received my order for the Missouri Pacific passenger cars and the decal sets that I have will work perfectly.... print size is perfect.....I am considering removing the letterboard THE EAGLE and replacing it with COLORADO EAGLE....my decals are perfect.....of course, the danger in removing THE EAGLE is that one could mess up the car....in N-scale I have worked very much with decals and so I am going to give it a try.....on Monday, 08-12, I will ship to you several decal strips.....use whatever you want......since you are modeling in TX, I also have decals for the FRISCO/MKT train The Texas Special.....I will just send you one of these also.....anyway, very exciting times.....if you need more decal strips, let me know.....herbmopac

Hi Herb, thanks again! As You know I came too late for the MP coaches . Now I could convince Mr. Marsilius ( Marsilius-trains.com) to spraypaint his last remaining coaches in matching MP colours. We are only waiting for Rob´s paint code as he offered in this thread. It is a good feeling to have such supportive fellows in the Z scale comunity. A nice weekend to all of You!

Hi texrail....I just sent your decals for Missouri Pacific today, 08-12-19, and you should receive them in about a week...they are well packaged to prevent possible damage in transit....the decals are about 20 years old but have been stored in a cool and low humidity controlled environoment.....I looked at you photos and it is very good....enjoy!
