It is nice that AZL is considering future corrugated BUDD passenger cars...I am waiting patiently for the release of Missouri Pacific lightweights and I realize that the dome and diner cars (890, 891, and 892 and San Isabel and Cheyenne Mountain) were in fact BUDD corrugated cars...so the AZL release will be smoothside cars...there was a time that this would have bothered me as I wanted to count rivets...I have learned over the years that most people will never know the difference...and a mfg cannot invest the amount of money to satisfy every detail...I would still like prototypical detail, but it just isn't realistic...so let's enjoy and be happy and if the EMPIRE BUILDER set is any indication of future products, how great it will be....just a thought...keep up the good work!

Well let's see...
Two-tone grey is a safe bet: UP, SP and Overland letter boards
Basic Armour yellow is always in good taste, particularly with domes
You can't go wrong with summer's Daylight colors
But the must have style for 2019 is rib-sided: basic silver or a variety of colors. They'll fly off the shelves.
Any clues? NTS is just a week away.

I sure hope our next release flies off the shelf! Bring it on! Just acquired a 0% for 18 months CC. Hopefully it's SP! Maybe Daylight colors... Problem is I've been spending a fortune on my other model railroading passion... G scale live steam 1:20.3! It's worse than this scale... when something you want becomes available it is not only limited but also get a 2nd mortgage expensive! Having a real coal burning 2-8-0 is what a little boys dreams are made of!

I sure hope our next release flies off the shelf! If you're going to make a statement like that it's not right to leave us hanging! Obviously it must be lightweight passenger cars because of the category... How bout a hint? East Coast... West Coast...

I sure hope our next release flies off the shelf! My guess is that the Mo Pac "Colorado EAGLE or The EAGLE" will "fly off the shelf" - perhaps?

Obviously it must be lightweight passenger cars because of the category... How bout a hint? East Coast... West Coast... Come on! I'm as anxious as you are, but if they tell us now there would be no good reason to go to Salt Lake City. But if we were to play 20 questions, let's make it interesting: Is it bigger than a breadbox? Did it ever appear in a Spencer Tracy movie? Was it ever seen on the NBC Mystery Movie? Mark

While "Bad Day" is the best known Tracy/railroad movie, there are by my count about 4 others with passenger trains in the background.
Of my suggestions, my favorite is the Mystery Movie "McMillan and Wife." The passenger cars must have been built by the time lords as they're bigger on the inside. Also each time they return from a commercial break, the train is different.
Actually my questions were carefully chosen. If RobA had answered Yes, No, No, the only logical conclusion would have be the CZ.
Of course the Budd cars are a really big deal. I know of SP Budd cars in three paint schemes Armour Yellow, Daylight and Stainless Steel, and I think there were a couple in Pullman green. Then there are all the CB&Q passenger trains, most of the early ATSF Chiefs and that Texas stuff. I'm more than ready for a set or two, plus the east coast "bonus car" and the WP F3 ABB sets. I'm already budgeting $1K per consist.
