Buyer beware. AZL will not back nor support the sale of any products that do not go through our channel. As these have no history or context with us, we can't guarantee the integrity of the pieces. Quite a few samples are produced in the development stages, including paint samples and sample chassis. Most of these have defects or issues which would be addressed in the final production run.
Additionally, as AZL owns the rights to these items, any products being sold through back channels is a violation of AZL's copyrights. In essence these are stolen items.
I am not surprised these are showing up now with the factory closure. I am sure former employees took what they could and ran. But I would be very careful in your decision to purchase as you will likely end up with a substandard product with no support to fall back on.

We have also noticed the "AZL" offerings from HK. Most likely they are additional units made by our contract factories. As Rob pointed out, these products are brought to the market illegally.

I run modern BNSF. I would buy 10 four packs of dash BNSF dash scheme coal porters. If AZL did rib sided or Trinity grain cars. I'd be in for 10 four packs of each. SD 70 ACe's in BNSF I would buy 2 to 4 depending on road numbers. As for ES44 AC or C44w-9 depending on scheme at least 4 to as many as 6 units. Most modelers like the H1 or the more Modern "dash" schemes.
I realize that many modelers are wanting 50's and 60's locomotives and rolling stock. But for some reason manufacturers are not choosing to invest in manufacturing in those time periods? Maybe it's their loss?

I still firmly believe a switcher is the priority in Z, imagine if room for sound was found.... well one can always dream a little

Again I think that the modelers who prefer early diesels (RS3 and or RS11)should be bugging micro trains as well as AZL. It looks to me that micro trains rolling stock seems to towards 40's thru late 60's as a majority... TT

Getting back to topic, how about the Siemens SC-44: Soon they'll be as common as sand: www.sacbee.com/news/local/transportation/article223442440.htmlAnd the article doesn't even mention the regional orders such a ACES and DART. Since would probably take two years for you to get your production out it would be well aligned with Siemen's.

VIA Rail has also chosen the Siemens SC-44

Blake I fully agree! Although maybe it's time to start a new thread: Future Passenger Car production? I was actually surprised to see this. I would have expected VIA to have chosen Bombardier.

Do you have both numbers of the NH gp9 ? I would get these first! ZSM has both shells on sale at the moment.

I would get you and who ever else who likes late 50's and 60's to bug Micro Trains or even better atlas... They have on file RS11,5,4 and 3 dimensions and data for production of Locomotives in computer files and could quickly turn out production run after production run of those Locomotives on CNC machines and plastic injection molding.. They have jumped into offering flex track in Zscale... So? TT

Hi Folks,
In the spirit of the holidays, here is an update on what's going on at AZL:
1) AFFA is in the process of winding down (still) AND we expect one final shipment of product from them VERY SOON 2) We have managed to recover ALL of our tooling from AFFA EXCEPT the Zephyr. 3) AFFA completed the Maxi-I tooling, and we have it, but we have not yet identified a factory to produce it. 4) We are still looking for a new factory 5) We have ALL the P42s in our warehouse now. (Yes, VIA is coming) 6) We still have plenty of inventory of previous products in stock.
All in all, we think this is good news, especially compared to the potential disaster we faced last summer. I expect we will be back up with new production sometime mid-2019. In the meantime, the final product delivery from AFFA should provide us with plenty of new releases through 2019.
AZL is alive and well.
Merry Christmas, -Rob(A)
