Hi everybody.
I was wondering: which motive power, among those currently for sale by AZL, would go well with Norfolk & Western freight cars? I am asking because it seems no N&W loco was ever made insofar. I am not sticking to any particular era. Maybe a Norfolk Southern SD45? Likely, in the first days of the N&W/Southern merger some motley crew rolled in the field?

Dave, MTL GP9 would be really great, but I doubt it can be found brand new. As to the ES44ac, I am not sure old N&W branded cars were still in service...

Thank you, Rob. I love the NS SD45, but wasn’t sure it fit well. I will go for it, then :-)

The AZL NS high nose SD45s are perfect. In real life, they started out as NW units! AZL has on the drawing board to offer the NW versions of these down the rails at some time. Rob And it is an "easy" paint job to put the SD 25 High Hood back to NW. Thus, I was convinced that we will get NW directly from AZL sooner or later - low hanging fruits....... Beautiful locos btw !!! Thank you AZL

Yeah, that might be the easiest (no) paint job ever. Assuming that is black and not dark blue, correct? If so, anyone needs that conversion done let me know.
And, there still are NW freight cars around. For sure the AZL PS-2CD's are still around, and I bet there's at least a few of the boxcars still as well.

Since no one bit, I went out to Dave's link. Reynault had one on consignment they guaranteed ran well. Bought it at discount and it runs smooth & quiet.

MTL also offered F7A's in N&W paint in addition to the GP9.
