BTW: with all the BAZboys leaving the Bay Area, perhaps BAZ should stand for: Backwoods Area Z? Mark Why? What's going on in the "Bay Area"? Mark (the one) in Oregon

Robert Ray retired last year, moved to Boise (still a "BAZ" BoyZ) Matt retired last month, but is still in the area so he and I can still do local shows. Others were/are always transient at the shows. I'm retiring in June, moving to Sacramento, so still able to do the 2,3,4 venues a year. So, sorta status-quo. Rob, Matt and myself with be at the National Train Show in Salt Lake City July 12-14 with the ZoCal guys and the Portland/NW guys too.

Mark, The BAZboys are retiring and moving out from the Bay Area into the unknown wilderness. Can you think of a better definition for the acronym? I'm guessing the show in Pleasanton will be about the last get together for them in the Bay Area until NTS in Santa Clara in 2 years. Jeff, I'm scheduled to be in the Bay Area that week, so I think it will work out. What sort of motive power will you be bringing? Also what sort of preparation for the cars? I understand Rob K. lays claim to anything at the shows with black bolster pins. Mark

GTS and some other locals will have several shows after Pleasanton (and NTS). There will be several in 2020 and 2021 before NTS in 2021.
We run everything but mostly diesel. If it has DCC and rolls, put it on the track. ~50-60 SMPH, except when I put the Shinkansen on.
We use NCE and have a spare Cab but we can fire up the jmri+WiFi for Wi-Throttle or Engine driver on the phone.
Not to worry about colors as our trains will pretty much your entire possession. Mine are Green on White.

I mounted 3 onto a new 3x4 Z-Bend Track module (previous post topic). I ran AZL, MTL and my märklin 2 axle through them. One had excess plastic at the insulation joint of the frog to points. Simple clean up. All ran through fine, even pressing the wheels to each side in an attempt to pick the frog. All good. Then we get to the show and try to run locos. 1 turnout just kept derailing. Sliding the unpowered loco trucks through, doesn't seem to like that same insulation joint. With the Optivisor and flashlight, I can't figure out what it is. I grab another loco and the same but not as bad (but the same model loco). So I grab another model loco and the same. Again, all the rolling stock run flawless. So, I'll be looking into this in a week (3 more weeks to next show). Any solutions, Jeff?

Atlas NOW has the SHORT rail joiners that come with the Turnouts. #2814, 24/pack. $5.25 (Atlas direct MSRP) shop.atlasrr.com/c-1474-z-track.aspxI don't see them listed yet and hobby shop sites. The sites that the Z joiners are the old SUPER long c55's from N scale (#2090) Hopefully the LHS's will get the new proper ones (2814) in stock too.
