Thanks, dazed! Moonlight makes it all looking a little bit melancholic, isn´t it?

I have always said, lights, people and vehicles make the scene and not just the trains. I light every building in all scales I model. Nice work. It looks awesome!

As a boy I used to ride with my bike to the Nurnberg / Bavaria airport to watch airplanes like the DC 3, DC 4 and the "mighty" Superconstellation. I was happy to discover that the municipal airport of Marfa/ Tx is close by the city. So I had the opportunity to model a portion of Marfa airport on my West Texas project too. With the help of google earth I could model a part of the original runway . The Animek fire lookout tower makes a great airport tower, very close to the original. I added some interor, an interopr light and a red toplight.

Unfortunately Herpa Wings has no Trans Texas Airways DC3 in its program. So a TWA DC4 is visiting Marfa on occasion of the Marfa Lights festival . The main building is a part from MTL´s hospital kit.

it looks great, and the way you oriented the runway gives a realistic tone to the scene, without building a full length runway. very inspiring

It seems that Your layout does not show the contemporary era. I saw several Lockheed Constellations from various companies by Dinky Toys on eBay, the only problem is that they are 1:200 (would this be really visible ? ) and need replacement for the propellers since these are broken ; transparent disks could simulate rotating effects.

Thank you, ptitrainrouge! Here you see the modelled corner of runway 31. As you can see, in reallity route Texas 17 is only some hundred feet away from the end of the runway 31! The dark square in the lower left is a greenhouse for tomatoes. Not existing in the 60th.

Yes, the plane is 1:200! It is a comman scale for aviation fans. As my scene is placed in a corner of the layout it is hard to detect the differences in scale. Herpa wings offers a wide variety of airplanes, but there a also others.
