What is the radius of the curves? These are long heavy cars. The broader the curves, the better you will be, especially when running long trains. I recommend running 220mm and above for the best chance to pull long strings of these cars. If you have any issues with track, such as the flaw on the curve, you will likely have issues. Look at correcting the track work. I run long strings of these cars on Z Bend Modules without difficulty. But the curves are closer to 275mm on the outside.
Also grades will hamper performance. Again, these cars are very heavy. Any grade will add strain to the couplers.
One I idea you might want to explore is to strengthen the coupler arm. The coupler arms are long flat pieces of plastic that can flex slightly. Adding a little bracing to the arm will reduce the flex and create a more rigid coupler. I have not tried this, but it seams like a sound concept.

All of the Gunderson high-cube sets came with the non-AutoLatch couplers. These were the only cars AZL released with the first generation of coupler.
Of course we will be releasing upgraded single Gunderson high-cubes for the remaining road names in the coming months.

The Ztrack Offices are like Santa's workshop. Trust me, it is a wonderful, yet dangerous place... And we have beer in the fridge!! Don't ask about the disco ball above the loco testing work bench... Update on the 2017 specials. I have worked up six weeks of offers that include more buy-one get-one deals and special sets at great prices. I am waiting approval from AZL Galactic Headquarters. Your input did give me inspiration on a couple of the specials! This is going to be another fun six weeks of Friday announcements! Now I have to go take photos.... Always more work to do... Rob

Jason welcome!! We do prefer that the AZL Gallery is for AZL products. We do have the Z Scale board that is open to anything Z. So feel free to post your creations and images there. We look forward to seeing what you have done!

I wanted the new one, unless they can sell us the new couplers lol Yes we can. The 90011 roller bearing trucks come with the AutoLatch couplers. They are a direct replacement for the trucks on the cars. The 90011s are in stock from AZL Direct or authorized dealers. Rob

I suggest contacting M B Klein. They have a standing order with us. The cars are in transit to them.
Z Scale Monster also has an allotment of cars going to them.

Oh goodness nooooo.... Not the Autolatch video!!! That is just cruel...
These cars featured AZL's first attempt at couplers. The current couplers on the cars are version three of the design. Obviously from the video, the AutoLatch feature was not present in the first run...

Okay updates galore.... We are now sold out of the TTX boxcars. Contact your dealer! I do expect a couple of larger Z scale dealers will have stock of these cars.
Yes, expect a new road name on the Gundersons to be released each month. Supplies will be limited. If there is a specific road name you are looking for, please let your dealer know.
AZL 90011 Roller Bearing Trucks with 11.5mm coupler are will be required to upgrade the cars. Each package of 90011 comes with four trucks, or enough for two cars. These are available direct or through any AZL dealer.
