I still firmly believe a switcher is the priority in Z, imagine if room for sound was found.... well one can always dream a little

Guys, I know we live in an instant gratification kind of world, but I don't see any big inconsistency with what Atlas has said, and what is happening: 69 days ago: "I am actually in China right now. The right turnouts are done the lefts are in production, then we will have the shipment" Typical production runs take 20 days. Shipping takes another 30 days. Distribution takes another 20 days. They are not far off. And that is another thing I really don’t understand, why use distibutors, just another price increase... I really don’t understand that concept lol

Frank, At this point I think of it as "pick a date". To add more interest, Walther's shows a ship date of April 2019. I've been considering get a Fast-Track jig, but they're probably backordered to May 2019. Mark I have a jig and enough stuff to make a good 10 turnouts if you want, I’ll give you a good price on them

And it is nice to get a few locomotives at around the price or a bit lower of DC locomotives in other scales, heck this sale is sweet. In other scales, for 20-30 dolars more than z scale selling prices, you can get sound equipped dcc locos...

I started in z scale ever since when I was young, way back in the 80’s, at the ottawa museum of transportation, I saw my first marklin z scale loco. At that exact moment I decided that one day I would have one and 3 years ago, that is exctly what happened. Mind you it was an AZL but it also was a choice about what I would build. 3 years later, I am still at this scale, but have to admit, I am also designing an n scale layout now also. What I am missing in Z, I get from N, one layout over the other to help keep the foot print decent. Yes the costs double, and those long awaited atlas switches are finally just around the corner, just sad that they weren’t designed like n scale peco switches... with insulated frogs instead of having to switch polarities... but for the rest, I can live with it. Of course the z scale layout has to be modern, and if woodland scenic and other companies just shrank and reprinted kits to our scale, I am sure more people would join too, but I can feel the movement growing, and I am sure AZL and MTL can confirm an increase in sales over the last few years...
Just my 2 cents

Anyways, most 40-50’s work on any modern layout due to the fact that those buildings are still therr, yet modern building will be a must since most rolling stock in Z is modern
