Fiber optics are also out because of the number of lights - sometimes as many as 11 per head. The fiber optic bundle would have been HUGE. Its bad enough with magnet wire. You say that fiber optics are out, but what size fiber are you working with? The fiber core of singlemode fiber is on 9um and multimode can be 50um a 62.5um. Of course then you'll have the issue of how to diffuse it at the signal head... Just thinking out load. ~Paul E

Hi Paul, Hans is the master of research on the ES44AC project, and he is away for a summer holiday, but I did a bit of research and I could not find pictures of any GE ES44AC CP locomotives with the Golden Beaver Logo. Can you point me to a picture of the ES44AC with the Beaver logo? Does anyone know if the Beaver logo was ever actually applied to the ES44AC? I did find the Beaver Logo applied to the GE AC4400CW, which is similar to the ES44AC, but sadly it is not the same locomotive. Thanks, -Rob Rob, I stand corrected, I was looking at the AC4400CWs and didn't realize that CP didn't apply it to any of the Gevos. On a side note there was one special paint scheme for CP, 8858–8877 were painted to promote the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. So all good for now. (Until you and Hans the AC4400CW or SD9043 to your stable of locos. ) ~Paul E.

On the topic of paint schemes for the ES44's, I see the CP without the Golden Beaver logo in your photos. I don't expect you did with and without scheme for this first run. So if sales without the Golden Beaver are satisfactory could you do it with with Golden Beaver logo on the next run along with the aforementioned BNSF Heritage II scheme?

AMERICAN Z LINE April 2017 New Releases – Part 2 Budd – RDCs C&NW: For April, we have Chicago and North Western RDCs! 62212-1 CNW Budd RDC 9933 62212-2 CNW Budd RDC 9934 Very nice looking, but does anyone know when these had the green and gold safety stripes applied to the ends. I know that C&NW's track inspection car CNW 430, a modified RDC-3, had the green and gold stripes applied to one end. But I've not seen any photos of the stripes on C&NW's RDC-1s and RDC-2 (CNW 9935). ~Paul E.

I'm using Firefox on a Surface 4 Pro. Don't think its an external firewall issues as I've had the issue while on a number of networks, public and private, the last couple of weeks. I'll have to do some more checking on my end. Just seemed odd to me that I could get to most boards/threads but then have issues on the these few

I was wondering if anyone else is having issues accessing the "AZL Product Announcements" section under Conversations? Last post appears to be by domi on Jan 21. I know I had couldn't access the section last nigh either, but figured it was just my connection.

All of AZL's SD70 series (SD70, SD70M, SD75I, SD75M, SD70ACe, SD70M2) have no issues with 220mm curves. Can't speak to marklin turnouts specifically, but they handle the MTL and Rokuhan 110mm turnouts fine.

Not quite the only difference. Also note the panel shape with the louvers below the road number. Non-isolation cab its rectangular, on the 'Safety Cab' there is a slant.

I though the FEC 107 supposed to be a SD70M2 While it's labeled as an SD70ACe, looking at the photo it appears to actually be an SD70M-2 with safety cab as it should be. ~Paul E.

Was wondering if there are UP SD70ACe/SD70AHs with safety cab in this run yet to be released?
