Thanks for that tip. I have a Märklin caboose that was converted to MTL couplers but it's not very useful since the MTLs are mounted too low.

The MTL 40' gondola mold broke years ago.

F-7s, lightweight passenger cars, and Maxi-Stacks?!
Wowzers. AZL is just pummeling MTL...I'm feeling a bit sorry for them. (I've heard that the only on-shore manufacturers left are Bowser, InterMountain and MTL.)
Nonetheless, looking forward to these releases.

Thanks again, Dave. I've placed an ES44AC order.

Thanks for the picture of the chassis.
I was hoping that an ES44AC chassis could be used with a brass Dash-9 shell, but it does not look like a drop in replacement. The brass Dash-9 chassis have flat smooth sides (likely for the insulation shell).

It is a rare model railroader who can claim that they have enough trains.
Many of us are hoarders.
There are those who can get rid of items that do not work in their era.

The place to start looking for micro and small layout design is www.carendt.comOooh...I snagged a Noch Bärenweiler too. It took me a little while to figure out why it has 5 turnouts! Most of the Noch layouts feature simple loops and one interesting loop. I hope the track plans are still posted on their website.

I started taking Z seriously because of American Z Line.
My understanding is that the only model railroad companies with any production in the United States are: * Bowser, * InterMountain, * Micro-Trains
Apparently Athearn has about 12 employees.
Many model railroad companies cannot afford to own offshore manufacturing. They are small companies looking to partner with other small companies.
So yes: delays will happen.

The difference between the Märklin 89931 and 89932 is that the 89931 has 4 sets of roller brackets and the 89932 had 8.
The 89932 is out of production.
The ZPF Keller stands are much less expensive; I'll probably buy one of those.

I want something similar in size to the PowerMAX. Why won't the PowerMAX work for you?
