I probably should have mentioned that the NTS is August 12-13-14, 2022. Set-up usually starts on the Wednesday before.

Hello Everybody,
The NMRA has finally posted the layout application form for the 2022 NTS on the web site. I still have everything from the NTS that was scheduled for the 2020 NTS in St. Louis. I plan to submit the same forms for the 2022 show. I will ask for 3 tables for T-Trak-Z modules. I will ask for a layout size of 46' X 20'. Please let me know if you'd like to participate.

The rates are higher because they have to pay all the people for all of the extra stops at all of the extra POs.

I suspect that Rob meant the Black Friday Specials and not some new, additional sale.

Those all appear to be built-up Showcase Miniatures trucks.

That's why you can't leave the kids alone to finish the painting... :-)

I just finished building the free Archistories garage kit that came in my Ztrack magazine. I painted the interior. I painted the garden tools and installed them on an inside wall. I built a custom workbench and installed it on the inside wall with the window and door. I opened the front doors so the inside could be seen. You can see 2 more pictures of the garage in the "Weekend Update" thread.

This show was simply a model display event. Almost all of the models were just placed on the table. I understand that a diorama would have enhanced the experience. It was strictly a model display event, though, no contest was involved. I looked at all of the models on display. I would have appreciated the same consideration from the other attendees.

I attended the St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modeler meet on Friday, 07-30-2021 and Saturday, 07-31-2021 at the Gateway Center in Collinsville, Illinois. I had the only Z scale there. I took 15 models. Ninety percent of the models there were HO scale. My models were, as usual, pretty much ignored. Most of the people who managed to stop for a moment commented that they were too small to see to work on or that they looked like cockroaches. A few people actually appreciated the time and effort I spent on the models. I received several compliments and several people took pictures. My models are directly behind the right shoulder of the gentleman standing in the forefront.

Just pry the bolster pin up a little and the trucks should rotate freely. Every time I get a new car I hold it on its side. If gravity rotates the trucks towards the table/floor they're loose enough. I turn the car to the other side to check that the truck rotates freely in both directions. Metal wheels will always improve the operation of the car.
