MTL 505 00 321 or 505 00 322. Still available at several of the U.S. on=line retailers. It's a pity none are available in the EU, it's one of the "classics" of the 50s and 60s. Why not Marklin 8205? zscalehobo.com/marklin/8205.html

Because, in order to use their coupler mounted trucks, Marklin's trucks are mounted too far inboard from the car ends, which makes American style freight cars look very odd. Besides are there that many who model US prototypes in Z scale that still use the Marklin hooks and not MTL knuckle couplers? I only have 1 US freight car by Marklin (a green Reading 50' gondola), and I long ago removed the Marklin underframe, and replaced it with a piece of styrene fitted with MTL trucks and body mounted MTL knuckle couplers. It looks way better, but ever since then, I just buy MTL cars in the first place.
