Hello all, I have decided to start planning a proto-freelance Australian layout based on the Pilbara mining region of Western Australia. Motive power is no problem with the majority of the different companies using SD-70's and ES44's. Just need some custom decals. The problem is the ore hoppers. I have found coal and ballast hoppers but no ore hoppers. Would also like to find some container flats also. Any body have some ideas? Here is some loco's I'm planning to model:

Hello!! And welcome!
I'd love to see more Australian prototype locos that the American builders have been sending over there, they have such great color schemes!!

Hi kbreck, Good to see somebody does Australian railroads. Never got time to get around to build something Australian, even trains pass my house every day.... Regarding the ore hoppers you will have not much choice other than talk to some 3D shapeways guy or custom build. I do custom builds, such a hopper can be done in metal from etched parts, but of course it's not cheap....
