Rob, Sorry I just missed you.
I think an injected E7-B would be a cost effective ...and big selling item.
Bunches of roads used them and they would not compete with the current line-up. These would actually help them sell!
They would also give an indication if an E6-A or E7-A would sell.
Thanks for all you do.

Hi All,
I voted for the SW1500, but I'd add that some more steam (love my mikado) would be fun and I'd love to see a trolley/PCC.
Best,
Ray

Rory It's actually a good idea, the chassis is already there, it's "just" about the investment in tooling

Hi everyone,
all new models are exciting, but I really would like some daylight E7 B units and definitely more steam,
I really hope it's possible to make injection GS3 and GS4
Thanks

I too would like to see more steam! Especially injection molded steam, the Mikado is a very impressive example of what AZL can do and I [really] wish they would offer more injection steam models of what ever road name, east or west! The brass steam locos are very impressive but very restrictive on both price and road name so come on... what about adding some steam to this list?!?

So it locks like the poll is pretty much done, so a switcher it is: SW1500 in front of NW2. New territory for AZL or better their supplier, not just a cut and paste job, new new smaller trucks, circuit board fitting the cab, lights, maybe new drive mechanism. The challenge is on!

Yes indeed a challenge, but Märklin could make a V100 (small trucks) so a SW1500 or NW2 shouldn't be a problem either. Maybe worms must be attached directly to the motor axis. Further customer requirements: Don't use traction tyres for a switcher, for better power pickup at low speed. Nice to have: A metal shell as Märklin uses would positively improve traction power. I suggest that small SMD led's are used for lights, embedded in the shell. The shell should have contacts, so the shell remains removable for maintenance. Similar approach as Märklin. A small PCB with contacts could fit in the cab. Might require optional factory installed DCC. Possibility to attach MTL couplers. See some ideas I have used: ...but the biggest challange will be a cost effecient design that meets the Z community requirements.

Frank, cost effectiveness and metal shells don't mix To make it a success the loco needs to be sub $200, that's the expectation of 95% of Z customers, not many are happy to pay Dr. Scheibe, Huet or my prices for a (metal) switcher. BTW, Marklin is using plastic for the V100 too

I think I'd be willing to go to sub $350 for a really good slow running unit that's DCC-able and looks prototypical, and of course in my roads (WP, SP, UP). Might even cough up a few more bucks for DCC controllable couplers. Of course, I'm not everybody. Mark

.... Not many GEs in the above list... I second those who asked here for some. However I voted for a GP40 and above all in this list, a SW1500. And yes, yes, yes, we need coupler boxes that can be swapped with MTL 905. In a perfect world, on all future releases.. Dom

Hey if they could do like atlas did with the alco S2 and actually use the shell as a sound ballast, I would pay up to 400$ if they could add sound... and I guess I'm gonna be in the 5% soon, thanks Gerd for that GMD-1, can't wait to get my hands on it
