Skirt painting is incorrect. The skirt on the "Yellow-bonnet" should be split between yellow and blue (blue should run all the way to the aft step) not exclusively yellow.

Don't want to start an argument, but a quick search of these road numbers indicates they all had yellow running boards for at least 1976 to the BNSF paint jobs. I don't want to say your wrong, because I learned from the WP there can be a wide array of minor paint scheme variations depending on who, where and when the painting was done.

No need to argue but I have yet to see a yelllow-bonnet sheme that resembles what is shown on AZL #3238. Furthermore, there are plenty of images sighting blue over yellow -- years after the 1976 date you reference -- for all three road numbers in fact. As for #3238, do you have a photo of this all yellow sill that looks just like the AZL? I'm kinda hard-pressed to find one. Because here it is in 1981 well after 1976, and there's no resemblance: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1276314. While I understand your point, even Rob K.'s link goes to prove my point and that's a 1992 image.

Well, here's the images of 3238 I was comparing to from 1976 to 1981: www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=64257and I'm afraid I can't see a difference in paint between the images and the model. SO what am I missing? I haven't been able to open the link you posted to compare (site says image doesn't exist). Mark

Aside from the fact that I have no need for a Santa Fe GP30 so I won't be buying any. After putting up with 35 years of paint bloopers in N and HO scale I would not let this one bother me.I would just go buy a bottle of SF blue get out one of my smaller paint brushes and simply correct the blooper.
