Over a year ago, we ran this poll. Well, time have changed in the last year and a half. So here we go, the 2016 version of the poll. What is your favorite AZL freight car?
PS, I already voted for mine!

I voted for the corn syrup tank cars. The prototype cars have always been a favorite of mine, growing up along a high-traffic BN mainline in the 80's. The AZL cars are wonderful renditions of these ubiquitous tank cars. The small layout I am building has two industries that rely solely on these cars. But most importantly, the AZL announcement of these cars was the catalyst that started the dominoes falling that actually brought me fully into z-scale. So with that, they are doubly "favorite" as I now am Z-only and not looking back. A close second place goes to the PS2-CD Covered Hoppers. I seem to have a slight bit of an addiction to these cars. ;-) Honorable mention goes to Bethgons, Stack Cars, and Centerbeams. Honestly I like most of AZL's lineup, but these just "set the scene" for me. I do hope to see BN and BNSF-varieties of the Bethgons. (oh, and TGNX) The Coil cars and Trincool reefers are fantastic cars, but they are just creeping out of my comfort zone price-wise. (Truthfully, so are the Corn Syrup cars but I'm fighting through it given their importance to my layout) I got a cut-rate price on one coil car, and did buy a pair of the Trincools but I'll otherwise have to wait for a fire-sale. Even with the syrup cars, I've stopped buying them outright and hedging my bets that I can get a little more of a break on the price later...with the risk that they'll sell out. It's a risk I hate taking, but it's my reality. I'm not crusading against prices here...I'm happy that others can comfortably buy them at whatever price the market bears. I'm just saying that their level of quality and resulting price is mostly missing the mark with me personally. Admittedly, my addiction to PS2-CD's is probably not helping the situation.

I'd have to say that would be the ACF 3 bay hoppers. Because I picked up 24 of them on the Black Friday special - bought 3 four packs and got another 3 four packs for free. 24 in one day. Loved all the bright color schemes.
And that doesn't include the 3 bay hoppers I already had gotten over the years.

First off there are no winners... everyone is a winner. All will get participation trophies!!! Woo hoo!!!!
I will keep this unlocked for a little while longer. But here is what is interesting. Out of the top 5 products, 3 were not even on the market last year! The top products for 2015 were the well cars, Bethgons and a tie for the funnel flow, ACF 2-bays and the PS2 hoppers. Of these, only the Bethgons have remained consistently popular. Very interesting!
I loved seeing the coil cars, 64' reefers and corn syrup cars get such high votes. All of these have been on my favorites list as well.
Okay who wants a locomotive poll?

Marketing can't vote or influence the vote I see from the list, an old school PFE reefer, super long beer car, common high cubes and Trinity Reefers. The distinctive style brought Trinities to the high ranking. There were a lot of low ranks for the hoppers and tanks, sort of a saturated market to me. Hard to pick a direction but I'm waiting for something different. MTL's about cornered the Reefer market (thank you - quick way to get a long mixed up train), 40' gondolas and flats. Short tank cars: just märklin. I dunno. I'll guess I'll just wait til something catches my eye.
