Their is one on eBay do a search for "zthek" It's bin listed and relisted for over a year now. I would like to get one but their is no way i'm paying the prices that dealer is asking. While that ebay dealer dose have some hard to find items many/most of them are listed at excessively high amounts. 400 to 500% too high. But as they say A fool and his money are easily parted and you can't fault the guy for wanting to be the one who gets that money.

That's right Lajos Thek produced an SW1 under the Zthek name about 2010 but they are definitely out of production. Not many of them produced. Of course what really impressed me was his Z scale Shay.

I bought the latest version (V.2) of the motor from James (James Shiff) last week. The gearing has been improved by quite a lot. My modeling skills leave a lot to be desired -but it only requires a shell. For $ 99 there is a lot of potential there.

You know in 2010 MTL implied a promise of a SW1500. Maybe we should all send them a "what happened ?!?" email. A good mass produced U.S. switcher is THE item that is missing from Z scale. Of course I'm partial to the switchers I use to watch as a kid: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2272649Mark

Just talk to him and it's not likely going to happen in the future. Bob

I bought a NYC observation from Shapeways, but it was crap. I'd ordered two and was thankful they only shipped one. I called myself lucky, only getting one.
Anyway I understand you can have your design made by Shapeways in brass, as well.
Anybody know anything about the technology to draw this up?
