I have an IBL cabinet for my N Scale collection but a cardboard box so far for my small Z scale items. But I'm sure that will change.
Nice looking case Bob. And Rob Wow Sweet collection and layout

And Rob Wow Sweet collection and layout Thanks Subwayaz Welcome to forum and glad to see and talk to another fellow Z scaler. I've been collecting z's for 8 years now and love it. Also want to start a small lay out soon. In these last few years so many new things have been added its even better. Thanks to the great work of the guys at AZL and MTL and other companys that are stepping up to working on what fello z scalers are wanting and looking for. Welcome aboard Bob

Thanks Bob, and I must agree I've been watching Z scale for sometime now and just decided to jump in. The selections have indeed sure improved, and from what I'm reading it's only going to get better in the near future.
I've started a small layout using Blue Foamboard; and looking at doing another in a Briefcase so I can take it along on my RV travels.
You'll see me around I'll have lots of question as things progress I'm sure from you more experienced z modelers.
Take care
Glen

As with my n-scale trains I am using a tackle box that can hold up to 50 locomotives (n scale) or about 100 z scale items I don't know for sure about the 100 trains due to my one JNR Series 485 Express still in its case and my GP38 will keep its box, but my 4 60' hi cube boxcars will go in that when I purchase more trains. Now because I don't have a layout planned or built yet... I have all my MTL track (100+ pieces of track) all fit in a yet another part of fishing tackle boxes... Its weird what you learn going to N scale shows I tell you... But nice thing with my knowledge of N is most of it is easily transferred to this scale...

I keep mine in a plastic tool box with pull out draws with lids that I can modify the inside troughs. It is made by "Plano"
I put down that same anti slide stuff people use in cupboards on the bottom so loco's and rolling stock do not slide. I then cut think cardboard as spacers to keep locomotives from rubbing against eachother. It works very well.
