Ok so I received my 6 AZL thrall well cars 3 CP rail and 3 DTTX. all I can say is wow nice weight beautiful detailing on both the cars and the shipping containers I'm very impressed. I also did a quick comparison to my mtl well cars and intermodel containers, the containers blow mtl's out of the water. I have more mtl well cars then I have mtl containers so I did do a test fit obviously the pin holes don't line up we all know that but the AZL containers do fit snug in the MTL units and look far better as far as level of detail is concerned. I'm very pleased with the fact that the containers are interchangeable from brand to brand.
Now time for the questions first question will there be another run of thrall well cars in the near future I know I got the last cp set so gotta be close to another production run I hope
Second question will the hapag Lloyd containers be available again soon I see hundreds go by everyday behind my house on CP rails main line nex to there head office so I'd Deffs like to get some when/if they are available again
Last but not least will we ever see 20' shipping containers out of AZL ?
Thanks again for yet another awesome product from you guys and thanks for any info your allowed to offer up

Just to chime in here and blow the same trumpet... the well cars do indeed seem to gradually be nearing the point of being completely sold out, so yes, it would be nice to see another run of this important and popular model.
I realize of course that it's a question of juggling around production capacities, what with all the new items we've been seeing over the past few months. But still - any chance of seeing more well cars anytime soon?

I did see those to and also read somewhere they have the same pin spacing the AZL containers but don't know if it's true yet. I just figured tho if azl had another run planned soon I could wait and go through my Canadian dealer to help a small Canadian business and also to continue to support AZL I don't think he can get mcz products at this current time just AZL MTL Rokuhan and Intermountain

Any chance of having a new series of 53' Thrall Well car ? Not in the current production plan - especially with the Maxi-I rapidly approaching. BUT in defense of the Maxi-I - while it is a 40' well, the major railroads stack a 53' on top all the time - and our cars work this way too.

I would love to have more JBHunt 53ft containers. Me too, but the mold is broken. Next time we will do corrugated containers - our first ones were smooth side.

I would love to have more JBHunt 53ft containers. Me too, but the mold is broken. Next time we will do corrugated containers - our first ones were smooth side. Bummer, sorry to hear that. Since I posted that four-and-a-half years ago, I've mostly managed to resolve that particular need. For the platewall style containers, simple printed cardstock models do a very nice job of representing their real life counterparts. The relief in Z is so small that--short of extreme macro-photography--the printed cardstock looks VERY convincing in Z. While I still wouldn't mind having some variation of the platewall, and it seems like there are already a couple of 53-foot corrugated containers available in Z, I think the corrugated 53 would be a good seller for AZL. And there are a large variety of schemes now to make them even more of a commercially viable choice. I think the best option for another well car would be the Maxi-IV. There is a decent variety of 40ft and 48ft cars but aside from the less common AZL 53ft car, (they are NSC cars, not Thrall) there is an opportunity to get the extremely common Maxi-IV articulated cars into play as a standard production item. I think how the Maxi-I performs--and particularly the articulation--will set the stage for another production articulated intermodal car.
